Delivery Riders Face a Different Level of Risk

Delivery riders have become part of the daily rhythm of modern cities. They move food, groceries, medicine, and essential items through busy streets, often during peak traffic, bad weather, low-light conditions, and tight delivery windows.

But behind that convenience is a serious safety concern. Delivery riders using e-bikes, scooters, bicycles, and other micro-mobility devices often face higher exposure to road hazards, vehicle traffic, time pressure, and unpredictable riding conditions.

The Mantis Motion Labs Delivery Rider Survey is designed to better understand those risks.

Mantis Motion Labs wants to better understand the conditions delivery riders face, including traffic interaction, route pressure, road quality, vehicle blind spots, parking and pickup/drop-off issues, night visibility, weather exposure, app pressure, safety equipment, and near-miss or crash experiences.

This information can help support future safety research, product development, and rider-focused awareness efforts.
