Mantis Motion Labs Research and Data

Research & Data

Data Tells a Story. That Story Drives Safety.

Mantis Motion Labs is built around the belief that safer micro-mobility starts with better information. Riders are on the front line of the changing transportation landscape, and their experiences can reveal risks that may not always show up clearly in traditional safety reporting.

Our research focuses on e-bike, e-scooter, delivery, and urban micro-mobility riders. We collect feedback about visibility, road hazards, traffic interaction, rider behavior, near misses, crashes, delivery pressure, equipment needs, and the safety challenges riders face in real-world conditions.

Why Research Matters

Micro-mobility is growing quickly, but safety tools, infrastructure, and public awareness are still catching up. Riders often share space with larger vehicles, pedestrians, buses, parked cars, uneven pavement, poor lighting, and distracted traffic.

The more we understand these conditions, the better we can identify where safety gaps exist.

Mantis Motion Labs uses rider feedback and safety observations to help guide future product concepts, educational content, safety reporting, and technology ideas designed around actual rider needs.

What We Study

Our research is focused on the conditions that affect rider safety before, during, and after moments of risk.

We look at visibility issues, rear awareness, road hazards, crash patterns, near-miss events, delivery rider pressure, rider confidence, helmet use, signaling behavior, night riding, traffic exposure, and the types of safety products riders believe would help them most.

From Feedback to Innovation

Every rider experience has value. A single response may point to a common hazard. A repeated pattern may reveal a larger safety problem. Over time, this information can help shape smarter product development and stronger safety conversations.

Mantis Motion Labs is not collecting data just to collect it. We are using it to support better design, better awareness, and safer movement.

Help Build Safer Micro-Mobility

Whether you ride every day, deliver for work, commute by scooter, or only ride occasionally, your feedback matters.

Take the Rider Safety Survey and help Mantis Motion Labs turn rider experiences into research, innovation, and safer solutions.

Help Shape the Future of Rider Safety

Mantis Motion Labs is collecting real rider feedback to guide product development, prototype planning, and smarter safety solutions for micro-mobility riders.
